All candidates should be able to plan strategically and long-term and bring a commitment to NCCPA’s mission. Prior experience on a nonprofit board is beneficial but not required.
To balance the current composition of the Board and broaden the range of perspectives represented there, the ideal candidate for the currently vacant At-Large PA Director will have several of the following characteristics:
- practices clinically in an outpatient setting
- has experience working with the medically underserved or in a FQHC
- entered the PA profession within the past 10 years
- preferably practices in a rural or other non-urban region
- preferably practices in the Midwest, Southwest, or Western United States
Interested in ensuring that PA certification and added qualification exams accurately reflect the clinical knowledge, reasoning and other medical skills that PAs should know throughout their careers?

Qualifications Needed
- Content expertise, attention to detail, ability to work well with others, and excellent communication skills
- Must be currently certified by NCCPA
- Must have no disciplinary actions
- Must be involved in clinical practice
- Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the state in which you work, or have an unrestricted federal credential for practice
- Cannot be engaged in any exam or item development activities for other organizations
- Cannot be involved in any type of review course or activity to prepare for an NCCPA exam
