Along with the NCCPA Board of Directors and staff, I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season.
As we reflect on the past year and appreciate the challenges we’ve overcome, let’s take a moment to acknowledge the hectic nature of winding down the year and gearing up for the busy holiday season.
This time of year can be overwhelming. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it may be helpful to consider refocusing from what we need to get done to what we may be able to do for others. Whether it’s service, volunteering, donating, or simply lending a helping hand, acts of kindness can refresh our perspective and make a world of difference in the lives of others.
PAs serve in many capacities and remain steadfast in their commitment to patient care. This year, PAs have adapted to new technologies, expanded our roles and made significant strides in improving access to care, while seeing 10.8 million patients per week.
In 2023, we had 11,762 newly Board Certified PAs join our ranks, bringing diversity and exceptional care throughout the country and the profession. We are on track to continue this growth in the profession, reflecting the role we play as essential members of the healthcare team.
This year, we hosted our second REPRESENT! NCCPA Summit, and NCCPA celebrated its 50th anniversary as the only certifying body for PAs. Our first group of PAs completed their second year in the PANRE-LA with overwhelmingly positive results and we launched PAsDoThat! to showcase your work. Additionally,we’re supporting initiatives like the PA Licensure Compact to streamline the process of PAs obtaining authorization to practice in more than one state.
As we head into 2025, let’s continue to collaborate and advocate for our profession. Remember that we’re more than just colleagues, we’re a community.
From all of us at NCCPA, thank you for your hard work and dedication. We wish you all a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
Sincerely,
Dawn Morton-Rias,
