‘Living in Your Purpose’

Morehouse School of Medicine Winter 2022 commencement speaker address was delivered by President and CEO of NCCPA, Dawn Morton-Rias, Ed.D., PA-C, ICE-CCP, FACHE who congratulated new graduates from the health professional and scientific workforce programs, including 29 new PAs that will be joining the healthcare workforce.

“I’m so proud of you. You chose a profession that needs your head and your heart, the world awaits you and needs you to help make it a better place.”

She continued with, “living in your purpose means being mindful of the stories that we tell ourselves about ourselves.” She went on to encourage graduates to fully live in their purpose, to stay rooted in the community, to support each other, and be an ally for others.

Dr. Morton-Rias closed by saying, “as you venture out and put all that you have learned into practice, I ask that you remember this, give yourselves permission to continue to lean on each other, lend a listening ear and mention another’s name in a room that they don’t have access to.”
