PA Leads National Efforts in Cardiology

How Laura J. Ross, PA-C, AACC, CLS, DipACLM Combines Cardiology, Lipidology and Lifestyle Medicine to Transform Cardiovascular Care

February, recognized as American Heart Month, serves as a time to amplify efforts in cardiovascular health and raise awareness about heart disease and stroke prevention. For Laura J. Ross, PA-C, AACC, CLS, DipACLM, the fight against heart disease is both a professional mission and a personal passion.

As Director of the Heart Disease Prevention and Lipid Clinic at the Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Ross combines two decades of expertise in lipidology and lifestyle medicine to redefine heart disease treatment and prevention.

“When the opportunity came to merge those passions into a focus on prevention, it was a perfect fit,” Ross said.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped launch the HeartBeet Clinic, which uses lifestyle medicine to treat and prevent cardiovascular risk factors. This year, they secured funding for health coaching and insurance reimbursement for clinician group visits for a randomized clinical trial.
