Study Examines Effect of PAs in Plastic Surgery
With a shortage of surgeons and rising health care demands, a new study published in the Annals of Plastic Surgery examines the essential role that PAs practicing in plastic surgery play compared to PAs in other specialties.
The study finds that the number of PAs working in plastic surgery increased from 647 in 2015 to 1,186 in 2022 – an 83.3% increase, according to the NCCPA data used in the research.
